The lights on your vehicle should be inspected on a regular basis. Doing so will help improve the safety when driving this summer. Since summer means more traveling and getting away on vacation, you will probably be driving when it is getting dark. In the evening, make sure to turn the headlights on. The same should be done if you leave and drive early in the morning. Also remember that if the windshield wipers are on, so should the headlights of the vehicle. Doing so will allow proper visibility, as well as others to see your vehicle.
Lights and Improving Visibility
When the headlights are inspected, make sure they are aimed properly. Having them aligned poorly can result in poor visibility. Also make sure they are not aimed so they blind oncoming traffic. The headlights should be aimed so you have the best visibility of the road in front of you. They should also catch a little bit of each ditch so you are aware if something comes up on the road. Check the dim lights and the fog lights, as well as the bright lights. If there is an issue with any of the lights, make sure to contact us. We can inspect the lights for the vehicle, even the tail lights.
Always be sure to check the blinkers as well. A working blinker will allow others to see the direction you plan on turning. If a blinker is not operating correctly, they can rear end you or try to pass you on the side you plan on turning on. Checking the blinkers can be quick and easy. Park the vehicle and turn the right blinkers on. Get out of the vehicle and check the front and rear to ensure they are working. Then go back and turn on the left blinker. Do the same thing by walking around the vehicle to check. If a blinker is not working, make sure to schedule an appointment with us.
