Tire inspection

The tires are a part of the vehicle that you should not overlook when it comes to regular maintenance. With the seasons changing, the whole vehicle should have a bumper-to-bumper inspection done for it. This will help to ensure that the parts are working efficiently and proper when the vehicle operates. The last thing you will want to have is a breakdown when you potentially could be miles from home. While accidents and unexpected issues can sometimes happen, you will want to take all the precautions you can to prevent it.

Tire inspection

Along with inspecting the tires, they should have a tire rotation done. A rotation is needed to help ensure even wear for each tire. As the tires age, they will also wear. Sometimes the tires will wear unevenly. They may also wear differently on each side of the tire, or even different sides of the vehicle. You will want to make sure to bring the vehicle in so we can check the tires and how they are wearing. You can check the tread of each tire by taking a penny and placing it upside down in the tread groove. If you see the top of Lincoln’s head, then the tread has worn down too much. This will indicate that a new set of tires can be beneficial.

Check the spare

You will also want to check the spare tire if your vehicle has one. This is important because you will need to drive on it in the chance a regular tire goes out. The spare tire will be used for your vehicle until the tire that was damaged is repaired. This tire should be checked for proper air pressure, because you will not want it to be flat when you need it the most. The overall condition should also be free of any cracks or puncture marks as well. This helps you to have a reliable spare tire when you need it.
